Our Family’s Journey with Dr. Conner Bor, a Functional Neurology Chiropractor in Phoenix

When you’re a parent, you’ll do anything to help your child thrive. For us, that meant trying countless therapies, medications, and strategies—some that helped a little, some that didn’t help at all. Our son, B, is autistic, ADHD, and has an anxiety diagnosis. For years, he struggled with anxiety, depression, sensory struggles, and daily challenges that made life feel overwhelming for all of us.

We were desperate for support that actually met him where he was. We wanted someone who could see him as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms or a diagnosis. That’s when we found Dr. Conner Bor, DC DACNB, a board-certified Chiropractic Neurologist.

From our very first visit to NeuroActive Spine & Rehab Center, we knew we were somewhere different. The clinic felt calm, welcoming, and safe—a stark contrast to many of the therapy offices and doctors’ clinics we’d tried in the past. And Dr. Bor? He didn’t make empty promises. He didn’t talk about “curing” autism or ADHD. Instead, he offered something far more valuable: an affirming, whole-body healing journey that focused on B’s unique needs, strengths, and potential.

Starting the Journey

When B began seeing Dr. Bor, he couldn’t catch a ball. He wouldn’t ride a bike. Rock climbing, or even balancing on one foot was nearly impossible. His anxiety was so high after facing many challenges in school for being “different” and was bullied so badly. His separation anxiety when it came to me, his mom, it was so difficult to go and do anything.

We have been doing with 2 sessions a week, learning exercises, strategies, and therapies that integrated movement, cross-body coordination, sensory input, and brain-based activities. B’s first few sessions were slow—he was hesitant, anxious, and unsure—but Dr. Bor’s approach made him feel safe. Rory, the clinic’s new therapy dog, became an instant friend and comfort as well.

Seeing Progress

Slowly, changes began to appear.

  • Catching a ball: Something that felt impossible a year ago.
  • Riding a bike and climbing walls: B discovered he could do things he never thought possible. His confidence soared.
  • Separation anxiety faded: He now is able to attend a 2-day-a-week inclusive school, excited to see friends and participate in class. He can handle when I am gone - started with a couple hours to now even a weekend away!
  • Eating and trying new foods: B started experimenting with meals and taking supplements that supported his development.
  • Expressing himself: He’s now able to articulate feelings and frustrations in ways he couldn’t before.

We also saw something intangible but powerful: his personality blossoming again. The goofy, happy, playful little boy we knew was back after years of anxiety and struggle. His smile, his laughter, his confidence—these were the changes that touched us most deeply.

Why We Trust Dr. Bor

What we love about Dr. Bor is that he doesn’t promise a miracle. He doesn’t treat autism or ADHD as something to be “fixed.” He affirms each child exactly as they are and focuses on helping them grow, thrive, and reach their potential. His philosophy is whole-body healing, growth, and individualized care and it works because it honors the child first.

He listens to parents. He partners with families. And he sees the bigger picture, integrating movement, therapy, sensory input, and lifestyle changes in ways that actually make a difference.

A Safe Haven for Families

NeuroActive Spine & Rehab Center isn’t just a clinic—it’s a safe haven. For B, this has meant a space where he feels understood, accepted, and supported. For us as parents, it’s a place where our concerns are heard, our questions answered, and our child’s growth celebrated.

With the guidance of Dr. Bor, Rory the therapy dog, and the entire staff (who by the way are the BEST! They have become family), our family has been able to watch B thrive in ways we didn’t think were possible. We’ve seen his confidence, joy, and curiosity return, and every day feels like a gift.

Looking Ahead

We are so grateful for the journey so far and excited for what’s ahead. We’re now bring our daughter in to see Dr. Bor because the progress we’ve seen with B has been so profound.

If you’re a parent looking for real, compassionate, whole-child support for your neurodivergent child, we cannot recommend Dr. Conner Bor enough. He doesn’t promise a cure but he gives hope, guidance, and a personalized path to growth that truly works.

For families like ours, that is priceless.
